Terrabytez wrote He said memory, not HDD.
As for the memory, if apple sell memory for it then yes, if not then no. For the HDD, you can upgrade the HDD as they are 2.5" and use sata connectors, but you will need to get the OS onto it.
I know what he said.
He asked if he could "upgrade or would I have to get an external", which obviously means he got his terminology mixed up.

Either way, he can replace the HDD or SSD, whatever it uses with a larger one. Just transferring the OS is the issue, unless he want's to buy a new OS to go with it.

I got the new Macbook Pro Retina 13 today, and so far I am loving it. The operating system makes a nice change from Windows (I am not anti Windows) and is just generally a really nice user experience.
I 100% recommend going for the macbook pro, you will appreciate the speed of it in the long run compared to the air!
