this is my first time modding and i wanted to know what i need, and how to do it

Do you mean like to jailbreak your PS3 or USB modding?

Jailbreak = You can host modded lobbies and mod games in real time (You can get console banned very easily and will need to replace your CID)

USB Mods = Not as effective as jailbreaking but still pretty awesome mods just for messing around with your friends.

just USB Mods, like mod menus and prestige lobbies, and things like that

Then you should look into CFG mods. You can either google tutorials or I have linked one below:
