I'm trying to update Black Ops 2 to tu18 on freestyle dash but when I select it as my active tu and launch the game, it still says I have to update. If you can help me please post something that worked for you.

I'll be more than happy to support you through your issue, I have also encountered this issue before. The solution to your issue is to just install it while it pops up with the update required box.
It is fine to update games, as it's not a dashboard update.
Please be aware of dashboard updates and avoid them unless adviced otherwise, again. You're fine to install it through the game itself, Freestyle is fairly confusing when it comes to Title Updates manually though them.
