A Germany vs Brazil final is highly unlikely. I don't see Germany finishing second in their group and Brazil certainly won't. Although I agree that Suarez will be an important player, I still think that Uraguay have got a fine attack even without him. We also have to remember that Uraguay do have a very solid defence.

Did you watch Uruguay v N.Ireland?

I know it's only a friendly but Uruguay struggled against them without Suarez and they are lacking pace in their team, and I don't think their defence is as solid as you're making out and their midfield isn't either. Hopefully England can do damage with their pace and quality attacking players but it's England so who know what will happen. Suarez is going to fancy his chances against our defence as it's the weakest part in our team but hopefully Cahill will be up for it after Liverpool V Chelsea. I still think Hodgson should have convinced Terry to come out of retirement for this tournament or at least took Cole, that CB duo (Cahill/Terry) was the best in the league and their experience together would have been good. At least we have Gerrard in front of them who I would imagine will play deeper this tournament.

Uraguay's defence isn't solid? Well in my opinion the most important part to the defence is your centre backs. Uraguay have Caceres who is a fine defender and then they have Godin who has proven that he is a rock. He was part of the solid Atletico side. Their goalkeeper isn't bad himself. I don't think pace will bother Uraguay too much. They are a counter attacking team and I think they will use this against England. A Northern Ireland side who wanted to defend is completely different from a World Cup where you will meet teams with a far greater quality which will not be operating with such a defensive mind. England may be doing a little more attacking against Uraguay than you think. It may be England having to watch out for a counter attack (for once). We also have to mention the fact that we are in South America and therefore gives a huge advantage to Uraguay. They are used to the climate etc. All teams in friendlies have games that end in narrow wins or draws with teams which you would expect them to beat when it comes to the real competitive matches (Italy drew with Nigeria but if they were to cross paths in this World Cup I would expect the Italians to win within the 90)

Yeah you make some good points to be fair. Uruguay have good centre-backs but the fullbacks aren't that good to be fair especially on the counter England will hopefully be able to penetrate but who knows!

Anyway I'm really looking forward to watching it

What are your thoughts on England v Italy?

Italy vs England will probably be a 0-0. It will have a flow similar to the game in the Euros. The differences are that it will be played at 23:00 GMT and is the opening game. This will probably slow the game down.
