Okay, a little over a week ago I got a different subwoofer. I had it wired to 4ohms which I belive is 400watts on my amp. Also the sub is a dual 2ohm. Then today I wired it at 1ohm which is 1000watts and it played for about 1 minute then shut off. My power light comes on, amp comes on and checked if coil or anything is blown or wrong and can't find anything wrong, it just doesn't play. Any help is appreciated. Wiring is fine, fuses aren't blown either.

Subwoofer ( Alpine Type R dual 2ohm )
Amp ( Hifonics ZRX1000 zeus series )

Could your amp simply be over heating?

I don't think so. I've never had a problem with the amp overheating

Your amp went into protective mode, this happened to my subs. I had this happen to my subs. You just have way too much power pushing to it.

I'll have to check if it's in protect mode later but my amp is 1ohm stable. I had a Pioneer TS-W2502D2 before it got my alpine and I had it running at 1ohm for a couple months fine.
