GIGABYTE Z97X-SLI
&
Core i5 4690
Im just wondering what games would it handle & video settings

oh dear...
The motherboard and CPU doesn't do much with the games. For quality purposes that is where a GPU comes in.

What else did you buy? If you don't need Z97 features, I'd also suggest returning that board for a cheaper one.

A great gpu is a msi gtx 770 twin frozr. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] There is a link for you it will handle all the latest and greatest games at huigh to highest settings. Also if you like amd/ati better, get a 280x

A R9 290 or GTX770. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] I would pick the Powercolor, Gigabyte, XFX or Asus. (Cheapest, but brand that I trust. Personal opinion).
