That statement right there pisses me off.
Reach wasn't a bad game, not by a long shot.
The ONLY big problem with Reach wasn't gameplay, that was great.
It wasn't a bad community either, the Halo community is awesome.
It wasn't OP or UP weapons either, it was incredibly balanced.
Even the maps were awesome, they were a genius variety.
The only reason why Reach got boring so fast was The Ranks.
If Bungie would have just listened to the feed back, and released a title update.
Halo would still be on top.
But no.
Halo players, the most loyal community of gamers, right under the WoW players.
Apparenly didn't deserve it.
Thanks, Bungie.

I believe People miss the simplicity of halo.which was to be the best with there is w/ your starting gun to get map control . For example halo 2,3 you get the same weapon as the next guy. In reach they have classes, jet packs, which is an upgrade to the Spartans but not everybody has the same classes. An just the fact that classes were added in is kinda like taking cods idea an putting it in there game is kinda a sign 343 copy off of cod. But if anyone says halo copy off of cod , just tell em cod took theater mode from halo so anyways . Back to my main point I think people play for the simplicity of the game. Another difference I notice is map size in reach is way too big sometimes compared to the halo 2 and 3 maps because 2and 3 usually have balance maps like the pit in halo 3 or midship in halo2. But because the map is small or medium sized it forces you to work as a team. As for reach it only takes 1. Or 2 people going off with the Dmr to win. Also the the old fashion ranking system is what ticked most people off because it wasn't in reach. Some people play the game just to get a 50 highest skill. Because you need that to become a general in the past halos but now becoming a general is something anyone can do which is what ruins the skill gap. Since highest skill was put in for you to play with people around your skill so you don't end up breaking the xbox. But like I said it's all about dat simplicity. Peace

They should have just stuck with the 1,2,3,4's not branched of into subtitles as for multiplayer its not reach that ended Halo its COD ITs simply funner and easier to play and when reach didn't live up to the hype a majority of the community was let down.

Halo reach was not "incredibly balanced" as you put it. The introduction of armour abilities caused a lot of frustration within the community, especially the ability ' Armour Lock' in which players would cheaply activate the ability to evade dying; scenarios like such started to take away the competitive side of Halo and aim it towards the general folk.
The ranking system was another thing many fans frowned upon. It was not skill based whereas the Halo 3 ranking system was, gamers simply only had to earn credits just to achieve a new rank and extra armour additions.
Personally, i do not agree with people who state that 'the glory of Halo is ruined', simply because it is not. I thought Halo: Reach was a good Halo game in its own right. The halo lore is something spectacular and something which i fascinate over; some minor slip ups in current and upcoming games will not change that.
The primary vanilla setting in which early generation (1,2,3) Halo players were accustomed to, everyone starting with weapons of equal ability and such, had been changed. To some, this was an annoyance but from a personal opinion, changes have to be made to secure a great future. Hopefully the next game in Halo franchise will learn from the mistakes of Halo 4 and continue to contribute to a ever expanding and wonderful story.

I really enjoyed Reach even though a lot of my friends who play Halo say it's bad. And I liked Halo 4 which came after it.
But I do agree it is very hard, maybe too hard, to rank up in Halo Reach.

And I liked Halo 4 which came after it.It wasn't hard to rank up in Reach, it was time consuming, but not hard. Players wanted it to resemble Halo 3's rank system, it had a noticeably more competitive side to it. That, and Reach started the stripping of the simplicity of Halo. The armor abilities is where it all went sketchy. Halo 4 made it worse with the class system, that was something that drastically changed the core gameplay of Halo.
