Which is more important for a YouTube 1080p video render please? RAM or Processing power? I use Sony Vegas Pro 12 and I record with a Hauppauge HD PVR. The videos range from 10-40 minutes so I was just wondering what is better for this use as i am wanting to upgrade from my laptop.

if your going to edit you might want togo with intell for video editing because intell has hyperthreads so it just depends on how intensive you want to get a i5 would work but if you have the money get i7 processor and a fairly decent graphics card that you can run 1080p in at least and the more ram the better 8 gigs is sufficient though and last build a desktop way better than a laptop and cheaper.

Processing power is more important than huge amounts of RAM. Processor does all the foot work the memory just kind of shuffles that data around.

Having a good balance between GPU CPU and RAM would be the best.
