So I recently just bought this headset and I'm wondering if I need to be using a monitor instead of a TV because it seems like you have to be right next to the Xbox One to use it. You need to plug in the USB to the side of the Xbox but the cable is like 6 inches long. Please help, do I just need to find another headset or am I doing something completely wrong. I hope what I said makes sense

The only wire that you will have for this controller is the one that goes into your controller.

Other than that, the controller is wireless.

It gave me two wires, one that connects from the top of the controller to the side of the Xbox One and another that connects to the headset and the bottom of the controller. Are you saying that I don't have to use the cable that goes from the controller to the Xbox One? Do you get me? Or is that to like charge the headset?

It is used to plug into your controller because you must update it to use a stereo headset and the chat adapter.

If you haven't updated your controller here is a tutorial on how to do it.

To add onto what -Mark just said, once you have updated your controller, you will no longer need to have your controller plugged in with that wire.

My XO Fours came with one wire only.

Connection is:

XO Four > Chat adapter > controller

Audio is streamed wirelessly from console, to controller, to headset.

I recieved no USB connections. I think your talking about the micro USB for the controller in order to update it's firmware.
