Is there any way I am able to delete the background in an image that I found on the internet so I can use it in photoshop.

Umm its kinda clear what he is saying he wants part of the image and cut the background out of it.

I guess I was a bit unclear, like.. more or less delete the surrounding area in an image and just keep certain parts? if that works better.

If you use the magic wand tool in photoshop you should be able to choose the area you want (in this case the background) and delete it after you've selected it.
