Well to start with my name is Jamie,

I am in the Queen's Royal Hussars (QRH) Regiment and have done alot of work in Afghan over the last few years, I myself am extremely proud of what we have achieved in the last few years especially.

Although i have returned home to my family all safe, unforuntaly it cannot be said for us all, I have lost a few very close friends over the last few years and its not to be taken lighthearted, Its very hard infact.

I thought i would start an AMA thread to see if any of the TTG had any questions as i have been a member of TTG for over 3 Years now.

Its going to be nice hearing from you all.

If you cant get me on here you can always try my xbox gamertag too;

xJammoooo.

Regards,

Jamie.

Hey,

Well i wouldnt know what it was like in America as im from the UK but ill base it on 5 different things from Afghan to the UK.

1. Food and Water, although the food and water supplies are good in Afghan compared to come places it is still a massive jump to go from having nice clear water to bath and drink to that there.

2. The temperature kills you, even when its hot in england (today for example) its definitely a different sort of heat, it makes your uniform stick to you over there.

3. Nights! the nights are cold, but its the best time of day for you to do anything, if youre not sleeping haha.

4. Even though you are so tired when you finally get chance to sleep its really hard, you always sleep with one eye open so when you get back you finally get chance to properly sleep after not being able to for 6 months!

5. We have progressed so much over there, its unbelievable, but still its nothing and never will be anywhere compared to home, but im proud of myself and proud of all the other troops still fighting for what we have today.

- Thanks for the question..

Thanks for serving!

Did you get to see any of the football over there?

Will you be watching England tomorrow?

What is the situation like over there? Are the locals friendly?

Do you agree with the politics of the situation and you being there?

What are the conditions like?

What did you miss the most food wise and what was the food like over there?
