What is the situation like over there? Are the locals friendly? - Some were relitively as you would said 'Friendly' but me personally wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them.

Do you agree with the politics of the situation and you being there? - In all honesty, no. its not just the politics but even now it seems like were taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back, i think when we eventually all withdraw it will turn into the exact same environment over there and these last 10 plus years will be undone in a month.

What are the conditions like? - The conditions are bearable but far from comforting. you always feel on edge and the heat kills you.

What did you miss the most food wise and what was the food like over there? - not much really, i missed a good old sunday dinner cooked by my mother, but as for other things my family sent me over little boxes with a few sweets and chocolate in etc.

'Sudden Danger' has occoured to me a few times over my last 3 tours, mainly on my first when we got a night ambush, that was mega scary, i still sometimes close my eyes now when i sleep and i can hear the screaming and shouting. its not very nice out there at night at all, another time would be when i heard the tick of a grenade behind me and 2 taliban had crawle through the long grass for hours, thats the day i lost a colleague when he went to kick it away but he was too late, tragic to say the least
