Sorry to hear about your friends, but your home safe still.
Was there any situations that you were in that you felt extreme sudden danger?

Thankyou,

'Sudden Danger' has occoured to me a few times over my last 3 tours, mainly on my first when we got a night ambush, that was mega scary, i still sometimes close my eyes now when i sleep and i can hear the screaming and shouting. its not very nice out there at night at all, another time would be when i heard the tick of a grenade behind me and 2 taliban had crawle through the long grass for hours, thats the day i lost a colleague when he went to kick it away but he was too late, tragic to say the least

Wow, sorry to hear about that.
Must be strong mentally to be able to cope with such things...

yes its extremely hard but as you say you do learn to cope with things, it never becomes easier just more bearable, also you never forget but i never do want to forget because i will take these experiences and life goals to the grave.

yeah its really hard and scary sometimes but you learn to live with it, you have to be switched on all the time and when you return be really proud of your accomplishments.

Out of anything you faced while serving, what was the worst thing/what left the biggest impression on you?

By far the worst thing i faced and thats stuck with me was watching my best mate get shot down right next to me by a sniper on my second tour. just the noise of the bullet penetrating through his helmet and the blood that i had up my uniform when trying to perform some sort of first aid to try and stop the bleeding, i knew it was useless but i just couldnt give up on him, he basically died in my arms.. that was devastating.

I am incredibly sorry for your loss.
