If you're going to have a splash effect, don't make it have so little it almost becomes not needed. Also, the edge of the circle is a bit choppy so you should try to smoothe that out a bit.

You certainly shouldn't be upset with this piece of work, it is not at all bad !
One thing which I would personally change is the lined effect, it gives the image a texture which doesn't look smooth to go with the image itself.

Personally, I like it.
The edges of the sphere could use some work.
They're a bit sharp.
And the insides should be a bit more dynamic.
They're just straight up and down, even along the curved edges.

As previously said, the sphere edges looks a little sharp, try smoothing them out a little
Also, maybe make the splash a little bigger or noticeable? That's a nice part of it, but should be a bigger part of the design.

I personally am not very knowledgeable when it comes to creating graphics, However I do think this looks very nice, I tried looking for places where you said you rushed it and I really to the untrained eye could not find very much.
