IIRC the reason for their extinction is meant to be due to them not being able to survive in colder conditions, and the depths of the ocean are pretty cold.


Do you think it might have adapted somehow also to see in the dark (or something like that) since little to no sunlight reaches down there?

I don't think they are still alive, i wish they were cause sharks are sharks! You gotta understand that earth has change, as in the oceans and land cause of the plate shift. With that meaning, it switches things around cause unbalance surface. Suppose the meteors would of have done something to cause it to extinct or maybe they didn't reproduce enough to survive on.

If they are we're lucky. Imagine that big of a creature in the Ocean that people swim in everyday? It'd be cool to see them still be alive.

It might of been some giant squids.They can get up to 50 or 60 feet

I believe it still exists in the deepest parts of the ocean but we will never know because of how far down the ocean floor is.
