How to Make Simple a Avatar in Photoshop.

Download this font. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]


First, make a new document, 125 x 125.

Then, select your rounded rectangle, hold down shift, and make a not-to-big, rounded square.

Double-click the square layer, go to gradient overlay, and make a light to dark gradient effect.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Then, select your type tool, set font size to 100, and lay down any letter, i chose T for TTG.

Now change the font size to 18, and type the word you want inside the letter.

Then rotate the text to -90 degrees, and place it inside the big letter.

Now you can add a drop shadow to the rounded square. Just use the default settings for drop shadow.

Now you can touch it up to your likings.

Finally, save the avatar as .png to make the white part transparent.

Your final product should look like this!
