Well, recently I've been wanting to get into making commentaries over Call of Duty gameplays that I get, just for fun really. A radioshack recently opened up a few streets from where I live and I noticed that they sell Blue Snowballs for $50..

Here's my question though.. So, I don't have an elgato or pvr or anything to record my gameplay with so, if I were to just record select parts of the game out of theater and post it to youtube on unlisted then download it as an MP4 and put it into Vegas with a commentary over that, would that all work? I just want to make sure before I waste $50 on a microphone.

I'm pretty sure it would work and if you get a decent pop filter for the snowball (or keep it a reasonable distance away from your mouth) it's an okay mic

I would invest into getting a capture card first. People on youtube have high standards when it comes to quality.

Get a capture card first, I'd suggest an Aver Media HD which is quite cheap or just go with an elgato.

And I have a Blue Snowball with a pop filter which is really good for me

If you are looking for a capture card, I would highly recommend an Avermedia Live Gamer HD (if you have the spare PCI slot for it), I have a few of them in my capture system and they have no lag between the game and the device and can compress h.264 video on the fly.

If you are in desperate need of a microphone, my friends say that the snowball is a decent microphone so go for it

Yes definitely, especially with a pop filter. It's probably the most preferred mic among YouTubers such as BasicallyIDoWrk.
