The i7 processor is just money wasting as the i5 is adequate enough for gaming on ultra, the i7 is onlt useful when either 3D modelling or rendering a very big, complicated, long animation.

a i7 is needed this is a rendering rig, can people stop saying its not needed, unless you want to explain yo me why it is not needed in a paragraph so I can explain why every point you make is wrong..

An i7 is not "needed". Stop posting garbage all over these forums. An i7 is beneficial for editing/rendering but obiosuly not needed, an i5 would still do the job. 16GB RAM also isn't "needed", just beneficial. Volk posted a great build which had 16GB RAM so I'm not sure why you were complaining about it, unless you just get a kick out of being negative towards everything? Also, the build Volk suggested is cheaper than OP's so OP could swap the A-Data for Corsair Vengeance RAM and still be on budget if that's what you meant.

If you're such a wizard, let's see your suggestion?!

acually his build had 8 gigs and I wasnt complaining I was adding suggestions. I used the word needed because of the price point for this build, if you're trying to say the op should go with a i5 and 8 gigs of ram go ahead and tell him/her that but I am surley not going to say that. im not trying to be negative but you are, we both kbow that 16 gigs of ram and a i7 should be in this build but you want to go out of your way just to show me up. Do you really have a problem with me telling the op that he needs this or that if he wants the best for his money?

Edit I was not focusing when I looked at volks build so disregard the first sentence but at a second look I notice the ram is a data I think that should be changed to corsair but just personal preference. .

I would maybe drop the i7 and get an i5.. but then drop some of the extra money on a R9 280X or maybe a 290. I do think the 200 series from AMD is really nice, other than the stock 290/290x reference card coolers. I would avoid that, and stick to the twin Frozr or lightning coolers.

Well, you used the word "needed" incorrectly then. OP could easily save a bit of money, but still have great components and then still be able to add more or upgrade certain components. I would argue that a $1400 or so build should have an SSD. All I see is you posting negative comments around this forum which is rude, as well as pathetic.

Edit-This is what I'd go with;

OP could then purchase an OS if needed. Upgrade from 4770 to 4770k/4790k if you must OC.

Negative comments? I try to help not make negative comments but you here are getting angry because I said need. Do you want to tell the op to get a i5 and 8 gigs even though he has money t9 get a i7 and 16gigs which will vastly improve his build for what he/she wants to do with it or would you rather say that he needs it as in if the op wants to get most out of there cash? You are here telling me that im rude and pathetic when your the one critisizing me for tell the op that they need a i7 and 16 gigs of ram?

I have seen you post a few negative or incorrect comments in this forum before. I'm not getting angry whatsoever. I don't know why you get that vibe but think what you will. I never said OP should get 8GB RAM and an i5 instead. I simply stated that an i7 and 16GB RAM is not "needed". If OP had a tighter budget, he'd be fine rendering with an i5 and 8GB RAM. I've already posted a build which would be beneficial for OP. 16GB RAM, i7 CPU as well as a better GPU. You stated at one point that OP should upgrade GPU and then Volk suggested a similar build with more recently released parts, as well as an upgraded GPU and you jumped to criticising his build without even looking at it properly. If you know so much, let's see your suggestion?

this is my suggestion if op doesnt need a os scrap the optical drive, change the i7 4590 to a i7 4590k and add a after market cooler so you can overclock [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
