I brought an Afterglow controller but my mic doesn't work in it, it slots in fine but It doesn't show up as plugged in and I cannot hear through the mic or talk, help?

Do I have to buy an Afterglow mic especially for the controller too?

NO its actually an issue with the controller. I had one before and no matter what type of mic i put in it it still would not work. Try exchanging it for another and see if the issue still occurs. If it does just try to get your money back. Those things LOOK cool but are built very poorly and wear down quickly as well.

They are very built very badly I would suggest returning it for a new one or getting your money back.

The form factor for the afterglow's are different than the official Microsoft controllers. For that reason, headset pucks don't fit properly & that's likely the problem. I smashed mine. They are built like trash.

I wouldn't suggest buying any non-Microsoft controllers unless maybe Razer's.

I bought an afterglow controller, unfortunately, if I recall right, the mic did work in mine. But I know those controllers are built terrible.
