I was looking around on my Xbox One and it looks like you don't have to pay anymore to change your gamertag. Is this true?

you still have to pay unfortunately, remember you get 1 free change ad that's it.

You still have to pay for a name change on the Xbox One. It still costs the same $9.99 that it did on the Xbox 360.
The only time you will ever get a free name change is when you first create your XBL account and they give you a random one or when you get a forced name change do to your previous one being inappropriate.
