An apprenticeship is good because it provides you with real world knowledge of your job as opposed to a university which reading and studying, while it's a good education, doesn't apply the information learned right away. It all depends on what you like doing , what you want to do, and what you can handle.

Me personally I can't sit in a classroom. I have no patience with that . I need to learn and apply as I work because being shown and the explanation behind how to do something to me stick more than just having someone tell me about it.

Schools are charging more and more every year and a decent amount of ppl can't find a job in their field or pay back their loans before getting slammed with loan interest. My brother went to one of the best computer animation schools in the US and couldn't get a job because everything was going overseas. He ended up going to another college after graduating with a computer science degree and is now going to college for horticulture.

Sometimes planning doesn't always work out but in the end you will find your place with what you feel comfortable doing regardless of the amount of money. Making a lot of money is great and all but I wouldn't work to do something I don't enjoy. It makes working miserable which you older crowd guys and gals would agree.
