Hello TTG, for my first post, I have decided to do an in-depth review of the Astro A50 Gaming Headset. Before I start my review, I'd like to make a disclaimer that this is only the second gaming headset I have ever owned, so my review may not be for those who are trying to decide between buying this headset over another. This review is just based on my experience with the A50's from the moment I got the box (about three weeks ago.)

Intro:
The Astro A50 Gaming Headset is an amazing device. It's 5.8GHZ wireless technology, Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, multi-system compatibility, superior fit and finish, and excellent sound quality make for an amazing buy well worth the heavy price tag of $300.

5.8GHZ Wireless Technology:
Operating at a higher frequency than most other wireless devices, the A50's provide good clarity and range with little to no interference with other nearby wireless devices.

Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound:
The A50's provide excellent sound quality for listeners to immerse themselves into their favorite games, movies, and music. The surround sound can also come in handy for those hardcore FPS players who want to have an advantage over their opponent. With Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, every gunshot and footstep can be enhanced with the flick of a switch, to help pinpoint your opponents.

Multi-System Compatibility:
The A50's are compatible with the following: Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PC. The multi-compatibility allows users to switch from console to console without having to buy another headset.

Superior Fit and Finish:
The A50's are slightly heavy, but steal feel great after long gaming sessions. The ear cups fit comfortably around the ears and can be swiveled to rest comfortably on the shoulders.

Sound Quality:
Astro Gaming is known for making headsets with excellent sound quality (game and chat.) Working closely with professional gamers and top audio designers, Astro has created a headsets that delivers the highest level of clarity at every frequency.

Pros/Cons:

Pros:
- Long lasting comfort
- Excellent sound quality
- Extremely durable
- Micro-USB charged so you don't need to buy batteries
- Long lasting battery life (nine hours at full charge)

Cons:
- A wire is required to chat on Xbox 360 and Xbox One
- The stand does can not be disassembled for re-sell
- The $300 price tag can really empty some peoples bank accounts

Conclusion: With the many hours of play time I've investing into playing with the A50's, I can easily say, without a doubt, that the A50's are the best of the best when it comes to top of the line game headsets. The A50's are not just for FPS gamers because there are multiple sound setting for all games. I'll leave it here by saying if you have the money, go and get the Astro A50 Gaming Headset before you waste anymore time.

I would love to be able to use some Astro products as I here they are the best, but they are ridiculously expensive!
Nice review though.

No gaming headset is good, except qpad qh-1339 or what they are called.

All "Gaming" headsets are overpriced for the quality, its a cheap headphone with a microphone.

If you want some real good headphones you should get real studio headphones and a clip-on mic.

I have astro's there a great headset but downsides are;

bad mic quality unless plugged in, battery runs out and the screws come loose very quickly not worth the price better off with A40's
