Hi, i have a lenovo H420 which has a Nvidia GT 520 inside it. I want to upgrade the GPU to a 660ti. I'm wondering if my Motherboard will be compatible as it is a PCI-e x16pin. Also, would i have to upgrade the PSU to power it as well?

Thank you.

What motherboard does the H240 have? If you need to find out, download the program Speccy.

That doesn't really help because it doesn't show the the model of the Motherboard, however it shows to support PCI-E x16 GPU. The only problem you might face is if there is enough room inside the case for a 660ti and whether or not your PSU can power a 660ti.

From what Ive found online, it seems Lenovo white lists graphics cards for their systems and only approved ones will work.

i just opened up the case and looked at the PSU and it said that the power must not exceed over 280 watts. So therefore i would have to buy a new PSU but i don't want to do that if the 660ti isn't even compatible with Lenovo systems.

EDIT: im pretty sure that the H420 does not whitelist GPUs, can anyone confirm this?
