Well this has to be every person's worst nightmare when riding any of the roller coasters Six Flags has to offer.

No one dead, but 4 injured.

Attention turned to amusement park safety after a tree branch that fell on the tracks derailed a roller coaster car at a Six Flags amusement park Monday evening, leaving it dangling precariously and its occupants stranded for hours.
Four people were injured on the Ninja ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. Two of the four were taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.

According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, there are 4.3 injuries per million attendees at U.S. fixed-site amusement parks, citing 2011 statistics.
In 2011, the chance of being "seriously injured" at fixed-site amusement parks in the U.S. was 1 in 24 million, the IAAPA reported.
Still, it's hard to ignore images of a roller coaster car filled with people, drooping from the track.
The front part of the roller coaster detached from the track and dangled at about a 45-degree angle, pointing to the ground.
The car was about 20 feet in the air, Los Angeles Fire Department supervisor Ed Pittmann told KTLA.
Rescue workers climbed atop the track and used a thick rope to tie the front of the car to the track above.
By late Monday night, all 22 passengers had been rescued.

What is your opinion on roller coasters? I know the Six Flags in Atlanta, it's "Ninja" ride is very old and it's a wooden track, so I will never ride that one.

Six Flags always has something happening at it. They will get shut down for good one of these days if they keep it up..

I literally got back from Kings Island in Ohio yesterday. I am so glad I didnt hear about this or I would be terrified the whole time. I feel bad for these people and hope they come out just fine.

The chances of the car derailing are very small, but when you have bad luck, you have bad luck.

I remember at Six Flags in Atlanta, I went when I was like 10, and a week later a boy was riding the Batman ride and went upside down and lost his hat. So he hopped the fences to go get his hat and when he looked up people were coming through there, and that part of the ride your feet are closer to the ground, and well... he got his head kicked off.

That was pretty crazy.

Only been to THAT Six Flags once. It was pretty fun.

I actually really like roller coasters since I do not have a fear of heights or anything like that, lol. When I went to Magic Mountain I was on the Super Man, (pretty sure the one of biggest rides) and there was no problem.

Glad they're okay though

I was actually there Monday(day it happened) and Tuesday. I didn't ride the ride because I didnt like it. and it was just too hot to wait in line. I left like right before it happened. Must have sucked for the people to sit there for hours in the muggy heat. I went Tuesday and couldnt see where it happened since the whole ride is covered in trees haha.

I live in Atlanta and I remember that! Made me never want to ride batman ever again. Can't believe they still run it on the tracks..
