Make a new account and don't join a challenge lobby again is what you should do. You risked it and got caught, your account is never going to be unbanned. It sucks but it has happened to many of us.

You should accept the consequence. You knew the risk before you did what you did.

It doesn't really matter anyone could accidentally join a modded lobby they're all over the old COD's it's really hard not too join them. Lets just take the fact that the enforcement team blows they don't unban anyone even if someone has a point!

Why though my other account only received a two week suspension for this.

The most likely reason for this is that the XBLET can see that both of those accounts have been associated with "cheating" and at one time or another they have been linked through the same ip address so they can see that you own both of the accounts, the 2 week suspension you received was considered as a warning from them so when you accidentally joined this type of lobby again they can already see that your accounts have been noted for cheating so you received a permanent ban instead.
