Hey TTG, I need help on choosing my first car. I don't need anything too fancy, but something that will last just a few years. Any suggestions? BTW, I have about $2500 saved up.

Go on craigslist. You can normally find some good deals. Nothing fancy about them but im sure you can find a good running car that will get you from point A to point B.

Here would be my top choices.

1) Saab 9000 Aero (Turbo)
a) Super cheap to buy and insure
b) Can be made stupid fast with a few cheap parts (Can out run STIs and Evos)
c) Fuel Efficient
d) Most of all, its a super sleeper

That's the car I would recommend to everybody.

Now if your a import guy, I'd go for a MK3 Supra(I have one), and if your a American car person, I;d say a solid choice would be a LS1 Version Trans Am

A Malibu would be nice. My sister owns a 07. They're pretty sleek and clean. Getting around 35MPG. No problems at all and shes around 150k miles.

Anything really, but here are some rules.

1. Don't buy anything above 200k (engine) miles. Body miles are okay. That's a time bomb for problems.
2. Run a compression test when you do make your pick. Last thing you need is bad compression on the cylinders.
3. Make sure and check anything you can. Don't be in a rush, you want reliability over anything. I don't know why these guys up here are talking about turbos and performance upgrades? XD 2500 is about what the turbo on my car costs.

Good luck. Any questions? Message me.

Good luck finding parts. Considering how they stopped making Saab's.
