Peter Sunde was arrested today in a police raid in southern Sweden. The Pirate Bay co-founder was wanted by Interpol as he had yet to serve prison time for his involvement with the site. Sunde's arrest comes exactly eight years after the police raided the Pirate Bay servers, which marked the start of the criminal prosecution against the site's founders.

Was always expected tbh, Pirating is illegal, and so is supporting it, especially on the scale that he did.

Never used the site, as I see no use for it, but a massive change it made to the Internet, just a shame they're in prison now

Shame to hear about this as they were doing a good thing. People that can't afford movies, games, music or other things can get it off the pirate bay and enjoy it like the people who can afford it.

Get off your high horse here, bud. Theres a huge difference between 'not being able to' and 'not wanting to'... You may feel special and superior because you buy all your movies, game, etc. You're not. A lot of people, including me, do it because of connivence. In fact, if theres anyone you want to be "bashing" for pirating, aim your comment towards the people to publish it. Yes, its illegal to download them, but its WAY more illegal to put a copy of something online and distribute it.

If that's what helps you sleep at night. If you created a product, you wouldn't want it illegally downloaded.

Meh, it'll be back. Think of Megaupload, he got raided/arrested and now he has another website under the name MEGA. It's all a load of crap anyway and tbh who cares haha.

The law is cutting down on file sharing sites. I remember hearing about the the megaupload owner getting arrested for his site. He of course came back to make yet another file sharing site, but I forgot what it was.
