I think this would be 100000 times easier if you just jailbreak..

It is, but this is for thse that dont wat tp jailbreak. if they dont want to risk damages, or still want to be able to take their phones in for repairs

wouldn't you just restore your phone before taking it back to the store if it broke

The worst that can happen is it stuck on the apple logo. All you need to do is restore. I guess this would help for people that don't want to jailbreak but mostly everyone in this form has a jailbroken phone

No because they have a chip installed that lets them know if you jailbreak now. only on devices after the new 3GS of course

or bricking, yknow, the thing that makes it so you cant use it anymore. I have a few iDevices and only half are jailbroken

Quit talking out of your ass. There was never a "jailbreak detection chip". There was an API, but that was disabled in 2010, 6 months after apple released it ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ). It is completely safe to jailbreak your iDevice.
Now, I didn't watch the video, but non-jb hacks aren't anything new. I assume this is just savegame editing/replacing which is cake.
