i was trying to disable a 3rd party theme on my computer and i restarted my computer after i thought i changed every thing back but now i have a black screen... i think it might have something to do with explorer.exe but im not sure at all. please help.

if it boots up to the os but your taskbar and deasktop items are gone then its explorer.exe is missing or not the same as the old one before you put 3rd party themes

Im curious do you have any external hard drives connected?

*edit* did you remove explorer? Explorer is a key component of windows it literally is the windows. If you removed that youll need to use your windows disk to repair windows.

If you dont have your windows disk go download your version of windows from the digital river site, and either burn it to a disk or put it on a flash drive(its totally legal as to use those OSes you still need and microsoft ID). Heres a how to link for the flash drive method.

If however youre stuck at a black screen following POST then unplug any external drives.
