I'd prefer the skyline over the supra, but if I don't have a lot of money to begin with I wouldn't want either because both aren't anything special without modifications.

Hemi wrote Really? wow was i way off. People have told me that R32's and R33's came with an engine of around 350HP and that R34's were built for performance and that they had 1000HP already equipped. Il search that up and edit my post if im wrong.
The R32, R33 and the R34 all had the RB26DETT engine. That engine produced around somewhere around 280HP stock. Correct me if I wrong.
OT: If I had the money to import the R34, I would choose the Nissan Skyline hands down. Realistically though it would be cheaper to buy the Supra in the end. Of course once it's 2024 I would buy the R34.

Supra > Skyline
Skylines have been priced out of existance ( Only 64,623 sold in total), and by the time they are actually legal to import into the united states (R34 -> 2023), they will be outclassed by just about everything else. And then there is the forever eternal 2JZ vs. RB26DET. Bottom line is, you can actually get a USDM 2JZ, which produces 320hp, as compared to the 280 produced by the JZ.

As much as I love the Supra, and its a more realistic car for me to own in the future, I prefer the Skyline.
Always have loved them, and always will!

Hemi wrote Skyline because like other people said, they look nice, they are legendary JDM cars and you will turn heads everywhere you drive.
Only Downside to this is that they are illegal in the U.S. to drive. So in order to make it legal to drive, you need to convert the steering and gas to the left side of the car because they are built on the right side since they were sold in Japan and England where they drive with the steering on the right.
To do this, it will costs lots of money and you need to find a company that makes the dash and steering column that can go to the other side.
Next, you need to replace the exhaust system, or catylitic converter, with a cat that is cleaner and fits U.S. standards. This will make the car lose power.
So you will probably be spending around $10,000-$15,000 just to bring it into the u.s., then another $80,000 to modify the car to fit u.s. standards. Also not noted is the cost to modify the chassis on the vehicle which would add another dent in your bank account.
so maybe i would just go with a supra to save around 70% of that money (Supra is more cheaper but the skyline is alot better.)
The r32 model is legal now because of the 25 year rule, and no they are not illegal because they are right hand drive. You can have have a right hand drive car in the us. What are illegal about them is the safety/emissions. They were never usdm cars so they weren't crash tested to sell in the us making it not suited for us standards. You can import one as a track car only but can't touch the street at all. If you were to get one in legally and modified to be legal in the us and registered you will most likely not find a insurance company willing to insure it. There only a few fully legal r32s in the us and are driving on the street.
