I was in your shoes, but it's always better to just buy one. Making your own takes experience and patience, and you have the chance of breaking your console. Just buy one from one of the trusted sellers here on TTG

I myself plan on buying as I have no prior experience to modding hardware and certainly don't want to run the risk of screwing anything up. That being said, I recommend you do the same and buy instead of manually modding anything.

P.S. I really don't recommend a falcon being an RGH, boot times are absolutely horrid.
Some people say they don't matter, I said the same, but when you have to restart your console a lot and it takes 10 minutes to boot it gets annoying.

Ehh, you have to have done a really bad RGH job if the boot times are that long. Usually the worst is 30 seconds. My Jasper RGH boots instantly

Ah yes, the dreaded RGH2. I have a 512mb Jasper RGH1 so I'm all good. Oh I don't think I would mind a boot time being long but 10 minutes is just too terribly long, I'd buy a new RGH instantly
