I Have been playing CS:GO for about a month now and I haven't gotten anything from it. I know about crate drops & camo drops and I haven't gotten anything. I was talking to my friend about how bad my luck is and he said there is something called "Idling" you just sit in a server that ends every 5 minutes and it ends and drops CAN happen. Well, I left CS:GO up for 14 hours while I slept last night I again got nothing. I am not very good at CS but I think I am good enough to get something. Any tips any anything? I can't seem to figure out why this game hates me. Thanks.

The reason Idling is not efficient is because servers glitch a lot and reproduce drops that aren't real. It is quite hard to explain, but yes Idling isn't very effective.

The drops are capped at so many per week and they are distributed for time played, eventually if you sat idle you'd get drops unless you have already gotten your drops for the week.

tl;dr: Idling works, drop rate is an equation and valve gives you so many a week for time played.

I think it's only effective if you use multiple accounts/computers at the same time I believe. I might be wrong though.
