when i start the beta i just get a black screen nothing loads

If you have the Xbox 360 Slim 4GB model without a hard drive, that is what will happen.
I have the same problem.

delete and redownload it in the my account section on the xbox360 dashboard

it requires a xbox 360 hard drive to play it it says right at the beginning of the download,
i cant play because im using a XBL trial and it requires a valid XBL gold member ship lol

theres no way unless you have a hard drive ,
i know how it feels not being able to play,
lol all my friends are playing the beta and im just there like. fml (((
