I thought about doing online homeschooling, but my parents don't really understand since they wasn't raised in the technology era. I have found a program that's not expensive and is in my state, so how should I confront them? I think the pro's weigh out the con's in homeschooling and I know if I get the opportunity then I will definitely show my self discipline to not slack off. I just don't like public schools and feel more comfortable working at home.

Half of your "schooling" experience is the social aspect. In my experience people who go through home schooling or cyber schooling are always a bit off. They lack the social skills required to interact with other people correctly.

I fully understand if it is a medical reason, but other than that I feel like it is a bad idea. Like it or not, school is part of developing into an adult and you pretty much need to do it.

Yes, this was one of the reasons I DIDN'T want to be homeschooled because I would lack social skills, etc.

I would understand where they come from if they said no. They probably want you to have a social environment during school. Where you can have human contact with someone else. So basically, I'm trying to get my parents to get me home schooled as well. They explained to me why they don't want me to. They said that they wanted me to have humanly contact in an actual school environment. They wanted me to not be on my computer every day of the week (Might not be the case with you). In the end, I think it depends if you wanna keep your school "group" of friends that you would hang out with everyday close.

I agree with OP, I never really felt comfortable in public schools. My brother goes to school online and doesn't really lack social skills. I think it would be great, but that's just me. Good luck!

I am Cyber Schooled and I still have a great social life. I do sports, I have a job, and I am currently working out being enlisted in the National Guard. It is all how you approach it to be honest. Explain to your parents it could be easier or harder for you. It'll give you more time during the day to do things like sports and work. And it also gives you more time to be more organized with your school work. I am currently going into my senior year in cyber school. I plan to do all of my classes then transfer back into public so I can graduate with my friends. It will save me a lot of time and frustration that normal public school would cause me.

Hell nah, do public schooling. I HAVE to take an online class for my public school and it sucks so much. The work is HELLA tedious.

I did online schooling for the last 4 years of High school
I ended up graduating 7 months early because the work was so easy.
I HIGHLY recommend homeschooling.
I'ts safer and you can wake up whenever you want!

If you actually want to take classes that colleges won't laugh at you for, stick with public schooling. Good luck taking AP calculus online.

Eh, I think it's ridiculous how people can't handle a public school.
