Minecraft isn't really ran by a good graphics card, but more with your processor. What processor do you have? Also, you can dedicate more ram to minecraft this way: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Hope I helped

No offense at all, but you say 'Great graphics and good RAM' Might mean nothing at all,

What GPU do you have?
What RAM do you have?
What CPU do you have?

Just so you know.... You probably have vsync turned on... vsync is Vertical Sync... In other words it locks your max fps to what your monitor can display as a max. For example I have 2 monitors setup, one is a 60hz and can run a max of 60fps with vsync on. My other monitor is a 144hz 3D monitor that can run a max of 144 fps. When I turn vsync off then my pc is producing around 400fps. Basically vsync makes it so that your gpu doesn't have to run overkill for something that you aren't even benefiting from.

Above note not true. Even with framrte above the refresh rate of the monitor, you can still tell the difference. At above 144, it may be hard, but 60hz showing 120 is easily noticeable.
