So i`m going to root it and this is the first smartphone i`ve had so just asking, it is safe to root right? Is Verizon ok with it? Also i`ve only rooted my Nexus 7 before so can somebody link me to a guide they used that actually works for rooting a GS4 thats probably going to be on 4.4.2.

Also any fun app recommendations? Or just usefull tools, thanks!

My father had his rooted and the roms didn't work properly. You had to have the regular android OS and have it boot with the reg, then switch to the rom. It was a pain in the ass.

Once you get your GS4, Go to towelroot.com on it. easiest and fastest root. Follow the instructions and it will be rooted in 5 minutes. I would recommend freedom for free in app purchases, and CyanogenMod if you want a custom rom. I have the GS4 as well, and trust me, you wont be disappointed.

I'd also suggest XDA-Devolopers

Thanks for all the suggestions! It`s scheduled to arrive tomorrow so i`ll be sure to go to towel root. And also thanks for reminding me about XDA Developers, i used to use their app on my Nexus 7 so it should help for recommendations etc.

No problem man, glad to help. If you bought the S4 unlocked and not on a specific carrier, it may be easier to put roms on it. Unless they have made better roms by now, it may be a pain as I stated earlier.
