I have an alienware x51 r2, i3, 8gb ram, with a 330 watt power supply (external). Will this power supply handle a GTX 760? On Nvidias website it says the 760 takes less wattage than the GT 645 thats currently inside it. It appears that everything should be okay according to nvidias website, but i am just double checking.

No, it won't. You'll need a bigger PSU.

The fell support staff said the 760 was made for the r2 (which I have) as long as I have a 330w. And a 330w is the largest they make for this pc

The 645 uses less power than the 760, but both require two 6-pin power connectors. The 645 is a re-branded and overclocked GTX 560 SE. You should be good.
