It doesn't work anymore for accounts which have already taken advantage of the free month. For a short time you could change the site to mobile and it'd still work but that was changed as well. If you have an account which has never had gold before and go to buy gold it will show up as an option, but on accounts which have already taken advantage of this deal it will not how up again.
I don't know where the old thread is, this was at least a year ago.
