Why the profanity? You obviously did something wrong, most likely an outdated plugin. I can take screenshots from any game and not get the color dis-configuration. The screenshot that's taken is from what is being put out of the console, and the only interference would be a problem with the plugin.
Have you tried screenshotting Halo 3 through Xbox Neighborhood? It's like that on any non-dev kernel.
I've always used xDevkit (a reference dll that calls functions through xbdm.xex, same as neighborhood) and I've never had a problem with it.
EDIT: Also, the screenshot should be saved as a .bmp (bitmap image). Changing the file format of a picture could also cause the color disorientation.
