Any suggestions?

i would honestly get a charging kit not only should it help you sync your controller but it will also save you batteries in the long run.

I've tried using a charge an play kit but u have to have it synced before u can use it so I ordered me a cheap rf board same model so hopefully it works , I read online that it's interchangeable so I'm going to find out in a few days

last time I used a chang n play, once you pluged it into the xbox you were good.you can even take out the batteries and play with just the controller and cable as if it were a wired controller

If you don't want to fix it yourself, a charge and play kit or wired controller would be your way to go.
