Looking at getting the SONY VAIO FIT laptop for multimedia and school work... My question is...

Both lapotops are 379.99 4GB memory, 500GB hardrive.

However one has a Intel Core i3-3217U with no touchscreen.

and the other has an Intel Pentium 2117U processor, but with a touchscreen.

Will there be much of a difference in performance between the two or should I just go for the touchscreen one? Many thanks

(And yes computer noob).

Well, do you really want a touchscreen? If so, then that will be fine... But neither of them are going to break records as far a processing power is concerned.

The i3 will give better performance, but the Pentium won't be that far behind.

Both CPUs are about the same in speed but the i3 would give a slight performance boost. It all really depends if you want a touch screen or not.

If you want the touchscreen, go for the Pentium.
