Whats up guys, i recently downloaded a movie (Torrented) and it was an mkv file, i am unaware on how to watch it without converting it into something else but if anyone could help shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated...
I am on windows 8 if that makes any difference

I'm not entirely sure but I was in the same situation not too long ago.
What I did was downloaded VLC Media player, and played the file in there. I believe it was a .mkv file and it did the job. VLC is safe and very easy to use by the way.

Media Player Classic (MPC) Will play them and all other types of video files.
In my opinion it is better than VLC media player.

I'm pretty sure that the VLC Player plays .mkv files, I haven't had a .mkv file type in some time. I mostly stick to .mp4 video files.

I would say just pick up VLC and see if that does the trick?

nero can also play them alongside vlc
