With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networking sites getting more and more popular, are forums dying out? To me it seems like there's less and less active forums each year, which includes TTG. It might be just me, but a year or two, this site was much more active than it is now IMO.

Anyways, what do you think? Are forums dying because of social networking? And can stuff like FB pages and Twitter replace forums in the future?

Yes social media like Twitter and facebook is more popular but i don't think it's killing forums. That's just my opinion though.

I dunno if I would agree with you fully, most people would use Twitter/Facebook as well as having a TTG account.

I also don't think that they will replace forums in the future, as one day Facebook shall die down on activity as well as Twitter (one day)

No, not really - There's forums for different things that you would talk about. Facebook isn't life

I think the creation of multiple forums and social media spread the population of people on certain forums that were more popular years ago.

Do the math. The site is barley abandoned.

I don't think it is. I think it is stronger than ever. And once the newer games start coming out the forum will get even more popular with kids trying to find glitches and hacks for the games.

I think it may be due to games in my opinion not being so much fun as they used to be, but also possibly due to how long you've been on TTG. I know this isn't everyone obviously because i still see people with 4years+ on TTG but still, its very rare that you do and because its just the same old thing everyday just different posts. Some times I can go weeks without getting on TTG then come on and only go on here. Its just my opinion on it who knows? I guess everyone is different when it comes to this subject.

My opinion is that i don't think that TTG is dying. Other forums are dying and this is because people can just say what they want on social media accounts despite the subject. Where on a forum your subject has to be in relevance to which the forum is based around. Over all i think that yes they are dying but not this one.

-Maybe its because people don't really tweet or post on there wall about gaming and other things. Also maybe because you are given reward for posting e.g. badges where on social networking sites you don't unless your famous or something.
