I don't think paying $120 extra for the GTX 780 over the R9 290 is justifiable. The GTX 780 performs slightly better than the R9 290, but the 290 is a lot cheaper. Not having an SSD in a $1700 build would be pretty stupid. Razer products suck so I changed the keyboard to a better one, which also matches the mouse. The case you had was very old so I changed that too. If you wanted, you could spend less on a PSU since there is no need for a 750W PSU in that build. You could also save by getting your OS for free. With these savings, you could upgrade to an i7 with 16GB RAM, if you wish.

With sanctorum's build I would upgrade to a 2 tb hard drive instead of a 1 tb hard drive because it's only about 30 dollars more and you won't ever have to get additional storage in the future.
