My mobo is a corona I'm not sure what kind if it's v1 or v2 but the MFD is 9 - 2 - 2012 (halo 4 slim). I want to put a rgh in it as it is banned and basically useless. So I don't need a dual band I just want something fun. I'm so confused as to what chip to get because there's so many different chips with different specs I'm honestly lost. I found one chip that I thought would work but It kept saying they where out dated and there was a new one so idk what to get. Someone tell me what to get please? Lol

The cr3 lit is a good way to go. If you don't have any soldering experience, it may be better to let someone who does. If you feel confident enough to do it then go for it. The x360run and stone chips are also a cheaper alternative. Looks like you got yourself a corona v1.

Thanks for the help, and I have tons of soldering experience, my dad is a electronics wizard so I learnt from him and I figured jt was a v1 because that's when the first ship date was was in 2012 around that time, I just wanted to be 100% sure. I'll buy it right now actually. Thanks again for helping me.

No problem. you will also need a nand x or jr programmer to read your nand.

I completely forgot about the nand x I'm glad you said something lol. So one last question can I go online with this without a dual nand as long as I get a kv? This xbox is banned as I said before, but I know a kv Unbans it. But even if I can't online capabilities don't rustle my jimmies as I'm just using it for fun anyways lol.

You can go online via xbox live stealth or other online service. But obviously you will need a new kv to go online. I've used coolrunner rev d (knock off chip) in a few coronas and got great results. They run about 9$

So I went to order the nandx and there sold out everywhere. Can someone tell me another alternative to nand x? Or how to do it without nand x?

JR Programmer v2. You can get it for around $30/20GBP.

EDIT: Looks like it's sold out in quite a few places too. Expect more stock along with the CR4.

If you don't have soldering experience I would stop right there and just get an led light and a DIY battery powered board and work on making the light work first. If you don't have any experience then you're most likely going to ruin the console.

After that, turn on your console and figure out if it's a 4GB model or not. To find out, just check the memory. If there's memory on there (around 3.2GB) then it's a Corona v2, and you won't need a NAND-X, but you will need the 4GB R/W NAND Programmer. They're generally harder to solder in because the points are extremely close together.

If you have the normal one without the 4GB then you have a v1 and it'll be a lot easier on you, but may cost more money. There are tons of alternatives, like the JR-Programmer, Super NAND Flasher etc.

I'd also recommend you get the DGX Stone or wait for the CR4 XL. I've only heard great things about those two chips on the Corona boards.
