When you're spending about 2k to 5k for a first car, evaluate all your options. At that point, it doesn't really matter which car is more reliable because it depends on the owner. If the owner didn't take car of a car which is considered more reliable, then it's not going to be better. If you're interested in a Honda and Acura then you should try to check out a Toyota or NIssan as well.

You could find a CLEAN 5 speed civic si from 2k-5k and would be a perfect car for you to start with. Also if your looking for power srt4 neons or a trans am would be fun little cars that are cheap too!

Yeah your choice of a honda is great.
They save gas and they're cheap so don't worry about messing them up (It'll be your first time so there will be some small accidents.)
I could even recc. an old chevy pickup as the insurance would be inexpensive.

Thanks for the suggestions, you have any like specific models? I've looked at the S12 but it's hard to find around here.

Yeah, that's the problem with sports cars and inexperienced drivers, such as me, where the insurance is really high.

Toyota Camry could be a good car if it was taken care of. 5k is a real slim budget to work around though. You'll have to check private sellers constantly and hope you strike gold. You'd have much more options if you could double your budget.

Yeah I'm sure that would help a lot in finding a good car. I'll get as much money as possible and hope for a diamond in the rough.
