I have decided to make this topic as I see quite a few topics to do with fitness and there isn't really anywhere else this could be posted or that people can post about their fitness or just fitness in general.

This main post will have different work out sessions that other users can use as their own. Credit will be given to whoever post the session. the post will also contain information about different supplements.

This one is a fitness programme to get you to a high enough standard to be able to pass the entry fitness test for the armed forces in the UK, if you follow this programme all way through you should have no problems passing the entry test !!

QUESTION
I have a question.. I'm a skinny guy with a fast metabolism and it almost seems impossible to gain any weight? Is there anything that I need to do that I haven't heard yet? People say you have to eat A LOT so is that the answer?

ANSWER
To answer your question other than advising you to consume more food more frequently I would advise you to do some research on mass gainers. Mass gainers tend to be high in carbs to help people with applying extra mass (more weight). An effective mass gainer would make you feel somewhat bloated, however eating more although you have consumed the shake is what helps to make those gains (Critical Mass is a commonly used mass gainer which good ratings). Consuming supplements may have some benefit to you, however with that being said you should certainly eat more.

Eat plenty and train + supplements and you should certainly see a difference. Remember that it is a slow process and make use of a camera to take a picture of yourself every month or so. This is so you can visually see the gains whereas if you did not take photos you would not be able to see the difference (as you see yourself everyday).

Best of luck with with achieving your goals. Feel free to pm me if you need any help.

If you have any suggestions on what I could add to this post then either post below or PM me about them

Thanks

I agree with him. Mass gainers, tons of calories, and lift heavy with small reps, this will give you bulk instead of lean muscle. Lifting light while doing a lot of reps will burn more calories, which is what you don't want.

As made in the comment above a good, effective mass gainer would be critical mass in my opinion. High in calories, good reviews and retails at an acceptable price. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is a link to the amazon website with the cheapest which you can find there, ranging from 39 GBP upwards for a 4.4 kg bag. You may start to see gains after around a month of use as it will store in your body for around that time.
Secondly, a good protein to use would be one which is low in carbs and fat but high in protein, therefore a good quality protein supplement would be one such as 100% Gold standard whey protein which has around 1g of fat to 24g of protein which is good considering the max you should have is 25g of protein per shake. If you consume more than 25g of protein per shake then the added amount would be passed through your body and it would basically be urinated out.

Further help PM me or post below

I like this thread, may become active with this. I currently work out mostly everyday (at least 4-5 times/week) If I can but this should be interested. Need a new routine and this may be a good place to go.

I can also provide information on certain topics if you're needing help also.
