I volunteer at a technology middle school and I can honestly say, you will have no luck getting on the WiFi. Even if you do get on, almost all the popular websites like social networks and youtube are blocked. The only person who has access to stuff like that is the main tech guy. Everything you do through their WiFi is being monitored by the tech guy and the district office.

you could always get a android phone with a mobile hotspot - but if you have a phone with good enough reception to do that you might as well just use the data.

It is completely possible to do it and bypass all of that. No matter what the system.

If you can access powershell you could simply use the netsh method.
So you type in 'netsh wlan show profiles'
and then it will display stored wifi names
once you find the schools wifi just type in
'netsh wlan show profiles name=wifiName key=clear'
Then just scroll down to Key content' and it will tell you the password.
