Yes you can I jailbroke my 4s with firmware 7.1.2 just download a tool called pangu on your computer takes 15 minutes max

i have a phone but a friend gave me a iphone thats 4.12 firmware can that be jb? i really like to try it out

yes you can use greenpois0n. which is overall my favorite jailbreaking tool.just google it.

If its that low of a firmware just download Redsn0w its much easier and. All you gotta do is press jailbreak and it will do it. Since you have 4.1.2 you wont have to download your firmware.

if you are on a lower firmware on ios device you will NOT be able to a lot of tweaks i would advise you to update your phone to the newest firmware

this might help you out
