scrap that, get this instead;

Add a CPU cooler if you decide to overclock. 8GB RAM is more than enough for gaming. The R9 280 is a better GPU than the GTX 760 for a lower cost.

or, if you want a more powerful GPU, this is an option;

The G3258 will do fine in gaming and the R9 290 is a more powerful GPU than the R9 280. If you want to overclock the Pentium G3258, you don't need an aftermarket CPU cooler, the stock cooler will work fine.

I'm really interested in the first link.... my overall goal is to have a somewhat powerful machine at a great price.... but I would also like it to look great... here is the type of look and colour scheme i'm going for...

The case in both builds I recommended is the exact same as the one in thst photo. If you're looking for an orange/black colour scheme, get this;

The GPU and mobo have orance accents matching the orange/black case. The R9 290 will do great in games, as will the Pentium.

What about this? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I've never built a PC before and know next to nothing about the hardware of a PC so I need it to be a straight forward build.

That case is ugly and tacky. Plus, it's a full sized case which there is no need for. The H440 that I recommended and that is in the picture you linked is basically the more recent version of that case. If you must stick with an i5 build, get this;

I don't know why you keep adding 16GB RAM to your builds? You won't need/use it. 8GB will suffice. If you're going for an i5, you may as well get the 4690k and a Z97 board so you can overclock, if you wish. If you 100% are not going to overclock, get the i5-4590 instead. R9 280 is a more powerful GPU than the GTX 760 and it's less expensive. You can get Windows 8.1 for free, you don;t have to pay for it. If you're prepared to get WIN8.1 the free way, it'd give you an extra £80 which you could use for an SSD.

The case looks awesome.... [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

It was a build from earlier... must have forgot to change it...

any chance you could do a build around that case and i5 then? like I say... I don't know much about PCs... but that case looks awesome for my room. and what makes the dual core better than the i5?

It's ugly and tacky and glossy which means it's a fingerprint magnet. Plus, the picture you linked is an orange/black colour scheme build with orange LEDs, yours won't look like that. Since you're pretty set on it, here;

The Pnetium G3258 is a fantastic CPU because it's only £45, but it's unlocked and matches the i5 in many games. In fact, the majority of games. Games that benefit from more cores would of course be better with the i5. Games that benefit from hyperthreading would be better with an i7 but the G3258 handles the majority of games perfectly, and even better when overclocked.

Gigahertz wrote It's unbalanced if anything. 4690k with a GTX 750 and 4GB RAM? hahahahah

Here, I fixed it for you. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The one that Gigahertz did is much better IMO you should make sure that you have a decent graphics card and enough ram.
